Iguatemi Empresa de Shopping Centers S.A. (Iguatemi) is one of Brazil’s largest full service companies in the shopping center sector. Its operations comprise project conception, planning, development and management of regional malls and mixed-use real estate complexes such as commercial towers and residential projects in urban areas.
Iguatemi holds stake in 13 shopping centers, totaling over 488 thousand sqm of gross leasable area (GLA), while its own GLA sums 277 thousand sqm. The company is engaged in the management of 12 malls. In addition, Iguatemi has four malls under development in Sao Paulo state.
Iguatemi São Paulo, main shopping center of Iguatemi group, was the first mall constructed in Brazil. In addition, the company built the first mall in the countryside of São Paulo – Iguatemi Campinas – and the first one in southern Brazil – Iguatemi Porto Alegre – thus proving its vanguard spirit in the industry.
According to Cushman & Wakefield, Iguatemi São Paulo has Latin America’s most valuable commercial area per square meter. In the view of Iguatemi group, the commercial area of Iguatemi Porto Alegre has the best value lease in southern Brazil.
Recently opened, JK Iguatem is already part of the architectural landmark of the city of São Paulo, and has brought 23 international brands to Brasil.
Iguatemi Empresa de Shopping Centers has been recognized as the 31st most valuable brand in Brazil, according to “As Marcas Mais Valiosas do Brasil” survey, from DINHEIRO magazine and BrandAnalytics / Milward Brown. This is the fifth year in a row that Iguatemi is ranked among the forty most valuable brands in Brazil, reflecting our core strategy of always having the best shopping malls in all the places that we are present and of creating unique and memorable consumption and leisure experiences.
Iguatemi is the company of Grupo Jereissati in the shopping center industry. According to Valor Econômico Newspaper Yearbook, the group ranks among Latin America’s 500 largest companies in terms of gross revenue.
Grupo Jereissati began its operations in the textile area and, subsequently, diversified its investments in the real estate and metallurgy industries. Grupo Jereissati, through its holding company Jereissati Participações, currently operates in telecommunications, service and food sectors, thus allowing Iguatemi to set a wide range of partnerships in its businesses.
